For arterial lesions below the knee joint, the existing treatment methods are all "powerless": the clinical effect of systemic drug therapy on patients with severe limb ischemia is not good, and about one-third of the patients who receive conservative treatment cannot be treated within 6 months. No supra-ankle amputation was performed; conventional balloon angioplasty had limited efficacy.
The emergence and development of endovascular stents is a milestone in the development of endovascular therapy, and its therapeutic effects in coronary arteries, carotid arteries, renal arteries, and lower extremity arteries above the knee have been confirmed by a large number of studies around the world. However, due to the special mechanical environment of the inferior knee artery and the remodeling of the peripheral blood supply of the foot, the vascular stent suitable for the inferior knee artery is different from the mechanical properties of other parts.
Based on the anatomical and physiological characteristics of the arteries below the knee joint, the progression of the lower extremity arteriosclerosis and occlusion, and the theory of foot revascularization, our company has developed a new type of bioabsorbable drug-eluting stent for the sub-knee arteries.
