Professor Antonio Meeks was elected as a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering

Professor Meeks is a professor at Rice University in the United States and a member of the three academies of the American Academy of Engineering, the Department of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, and the American Academy of Inventors. His main research interests are biomaterial synthesis, processing, tissue engineering, drug delivery and gene therapy. His research advances the development of orthopedic, dental, cardiovascular, neurology and ophthalmic biomaterials. Professor Meeks is also the founding and current editor-in-chief of Tissue Engineering.
